PRINCE Phillip is due in Wrexham today (Thursday) to formally open the town's first four-star hotel.
The Duke of Edinburgh was due to arrive at Wrexham General railway station just after 10am to be greeted by Wrexham Mayor Mike Edwards and his wife, Mayoress Kay.
Wrexham Council chief executive Isobel Garner and Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd Trefor Jones CBE will also welcome His Royal Highness.
Then they will visit the Ramada Plaza on Wrexham Technology Park where the Prince will be given a tour and lunch before unveiling a plaque to formally open the 85-bedroom hotel.
'We are very pleased to have Prince Phillip opening our new hotel,' said Ramada owner Qamar Ahmed.
'It is a momentous day for us as we, in partnership with David McLean, have built this hotel relatively quickly from scratch while maintaining the high standards required of a four-star development.'
