NEWI Cefn Druids have injury concerns ahead of their Loosemores Cup home game against Airbus UK tonight.

Joint manager Waynne Phillips is among the doubts following last weekend’s 1-0 Welsh Premier defeat at Llanelli, while Mark Powell and Kevin Holsgrove also picked up knocks.

Strike duo Mike Heverin and Darren Williams come into contention after missing the early part of the campaign, while former Rhyl and Connah’s Quay midfielder Chris McGinn could make his home debut.

“In the three games we’ve played this season, we showed we’re hard to beat,” said joint boss Lee Jones.

Airbus will also be looking to build on their early displays and player-boss Gareth Owen is set to include some of the squad yet to be involved.

“We’ve got a lot of competition for places which can only be good,” he said. “With a big squad we’re in a position to be able to give some of the lads a rest.”

Owen is set to include Alan Hooley, Phil Molyneux, Adam Hunter, James Hussaney and keeper Chris Doran.

Owen was delighted with the weekend’s 1-0 win over Bangor City.
