A WREXHAM man told a court the last time he went to prison he came out with a much worse heroin addiction.

Darren Jones, 40, said he appreciated heroin was “a disgusting drug” but said he needed help more than he needed prison.

But Mr Recorder Robert Britton jailed him for two-and-a-half years after he admitted possessing the class A drug with intent to supply and possessing amphetamine.

Mold Crown Court heard police raided the home of Jones on Caia Park in Wrexham in January.

There were a number of drug users present and Jones co-operated with police and told them where his drugs would be found.

They found heroin and amphetamine with a street value of £217.
