A VAN driver from Ellesmere Port was arrested following a fatal crash in South Yorkshire.
The 37-year-old man was held on suspicion of causing the death of motorist Pamela Thurlow by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until August.
The collision was on the A616 Whams Road, Barnsley, at 6.10am on Tuesday, July 8.
Mrs Thurlow, 57, from Doncaster, had been driving a Renault Laguna along the A616 towards Sheffield at the time.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Her car collided head-on with a van which was performing an overtaking manoeuvre.
“She died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
“The van driver, a 37-year-old man from Ellesmere Port, was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital with a broken wrist.
“This man has since been detained by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
“He has now been bailed by officers to a date towards the end of August.”
