NESTON High School’s Cinderella can go to the ball – thanks to a generous local business.

Earlier this month Year 13 pupils appealed for help to find a fairy tale ball gown for their pantomime’s leading lady, after struggling to locate a suitable costume.

The sixth-formers were inundated with offers of assistance – and now dress shop Shimmering Reflections has come to their rescue.

The Brook Street store has played fairy godmother to the young cast by lending the production’s heroine a gown fit for a princess.

Laura MacNamee, who is playing Cinderella, said: “It is fantastic. I really do feel like a princess and everyone at Shimmering Reflections was so helpful.”

The production has allowed Year 13 A-level performing arts students to learn about issues such as securing sponsorship.

Cinderella will be performed on Friday, December 9, and Saturday, December 10, at 7pm.

Tickets are available at the school office or by emailing patickets@nestonhigh.cheshire.sch.uk.
