WREXHAM FC are ready to help out Heineken Cup semi-finalists Llanelli.

If the South Wales club are first out of the hat in next weekend's draw they will have home advantage but, under the rules of the competition, cannot play at Stradey Park and must stage the game at a venue with a capacity of at least 20,000.

The obvious alternative, Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, has been ruled out because of its agreement with the Football Association that no games are played there within a fortnight of the showpiece FA Cup final.

Cardiff City's Ninian Park is the only other South Wales ground which meets the crowd criteria but the Bluebirds could find themselves involved in the second division play-offs the same week.

Although current capacity at the Racecourse is 17,000, Dragons' managing director David Rhodes is confident that suitable arrangements to make a further 3,000 places available could be put in place before April.

Llanelli are understood to be willing to consider a switch to North Wales, where they would be assured of a virtual full house, with fans from the region jumping at the the opportunity to see another top-class rugby match in Wrexham to swell the numbers travelling from the South.
