DEFENDER Mike Williams is determined to make up for Wrexham’s disappointing season by winning the title next term.

With Wrexham 10 points off the play-off places with just five games of the Blue Square Premier season left, manager Dean Saunders admits promotion this season is beyond his side.

But Williams is confident the Dragons will bounce back by claiming the automatic promotion spot next year.

When asked whether missing out on promotion this season has made everyone at the club determined to win the league next time out, Williams replied: “Definitely. That’s what we all want at the club. We will all have learnt a lot from this season and it will mean we can push on next season and I’m sure after a good pre-season we will hit the ground running and really kick on.”

Williams added: “I was part of the team that came down with Wrexham last season and I want to be part of the team that gets them back up.

“While me and Marc (his brother) didn’t feature that much last season, we still felt part of the team that came down and at the end of the day it will forever be on our CV’s. So we want to make sure Wrexham get back into the league.”
