CHRISTMAS festivities started early in Ellesmere on Saturday with Rodney the Dragon returning to the Port Arcades along with a magical 10ft high Snow Fairy.
Rodney spent the day teaching children how to flap their wings, waggle their tails and blow steam from their noses with varying degrees of success, while the Snow Fairy wandered round the shopping centre granting wishes with her magic wand.
Both of these entertainers were the first in a fully packed schedule for the Christmas shopping period at the Port Arcades.
Every Saturday from now until the big day will be filled with entertainers, mime artists, choirs and even a singing nun on a motorised piano.
And if you missed Rodney on this occasion, he will be back again on Saturday, December 12.
