BUSINESSWOMAN Diane Johnson has become the first ever female chairman of the Electrical Contractors’ Association’s (ECA) North West region

The ECA is a national trade organisation that promotes quality, safety and education throughout the electrical industry.

For Weaverham-born Diane, the appointment is the latest highlight in an illustrious career within an industry not traditionally associated with women.

Diane is director of Eric Johnson of Northwich Ltd, the region’s oldest family-run business, providing the region with commercial and domestic electrical contracting services since 1946. She also sits on the ECA and Summitskills boards.

She said: “It is a great privilege to be the first female chairman for the region. I am honoured my peers have voted for me to take up the position.”
