A THIEF who stole £1,400 worth of diesel from vehicles at an industrial park has been locked up.

Jonathan Francis Hughes, of Wilkinson Street, Ellesmere Port was sentenced to 17 weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to two counts of theft.

Appearing before Chester Magistrates Court on Monday, January 8, 2013 the 21-year-old pleaded guilty to the thefts from Wainwrights, on Mill Lane Industrial Estate, in Little Stanney, Chester in December last year.

Between December 15-16 last year Hughes stole two lots of diesel from the industrial estate totalling £1,400, stealing £500 worth of fuel from Solution Transport and £900 from Colas Traffic Management.

Hughes was sentenced to 17 weeks imprisonment for each offence, these will run concurrently.
