WREXHAM manager Denis Smith will consider his future at the Racecourse following last night's 2-1 defeat to Brentford which confirmed the club's relegation to League Two.

The Dragons boss, who is out of contract this summer, admitted that uncertainty about Wrexham's future and the prospect of losing many of his players during the close season was not attractive.

"I didn't come to this club to manage them in League Two and when I took the job, although there was no money, I felt there was an opportunity to take Wrexham into the Championship," he said.

"I don't want to go back into League Two but if I'm still here next season, I will do my utmost to get the club out at the first attempt, but it won't be easy.

"If I've got the resources I can do it again but I don't know what's going to happen here."
