A DELEGATION of ministers from a number of Bangladeshi government agencies were welcomed to the Country Spice restaurant in Hope for a celebratory dinner.

The event was hosted by Flintshire businessman Shamsuddin Ahmed and his wife Ayesha.

The Bangladeshi ministers are visiting Manchester University as guests of the British Government and are looking at a number of areas including education, the health service and the work of local government.

Among the guests were Deputy Mayor of Wrexham Arwel Jones and his wife Mair, Lord Mayor of Chester Brian Bailey and his wife Raewyn, Deputy Mayor of Ellesmere Port Tony Sherlock and his wife Pat as well as representatives of the police, Crown Prosecution Service, voluntary sector organisations and members of the Bangladeshi community.
