A WREXHAM nursing home has celebrated the long service of six dedicated staff members.

Stansty House nursing home presented awards to Barbara Davies and Pat Thomas for 15 years' service and Pat Chapple, Julie Jones, Kim Jones and Emma Mitchell were rewarded for seven.

Julia Roberts, home manager at Stansty House, made presentations of Welsh Royal Crystal and flowers and builders celebrated their completion of the external building work on the new 54-bedded nursing home, which is being built adjacent to the existing Stansty House.

Barbara Davies, a senior care practitioner, said: 'I have spent 15 happy years at Stansty House and I am really looking forward to spending another happy 15 years when we move into our super new building in February.

'I enjoy caring for the elderly and working as part of the team who help to make the quality of life better for our residents.'

Julia Roberts said 'I feel very privileged to be working with such dedicated and professional staff who always put the interests of our residents first and aim to make a positive difference to their lives.

'Stansty House is a warm and friendly home and the support and commitment of the proprietors is invaluable in providing a quality service to our residents and in creating the environment which helps to ensure high staff retention levels.'
