FOOTBALL: FIVE-a-side footballer David Lever has hung up his boots after playing the game for 30 years at Rudheath Leisure Centre.
Lever started playing at the centre shortly after it opened with a group of young dads from Cuddington and Sandiway.
Soon he was organising competitions involving eight to 12 other teams and quick calculations show he has played in or arrange more than 2,000 fixtures.
But he has decided to retire as finding regular opponents has become more difficult. Injuries and age have played their part, too.
