WELSH Premier strugglers Newi Cefn Druids have pencilled-in their FAW Premier Cup crunch match at Newport County for Monday, November 20.

The Ancients, who are currently next-to-bottom in the table with just four points from their first nine matches, will be hoping to receive a welcome cash-boost from a run in the BBC-sponsored competition which they are taking part in for the first time.

Druids reached the second round – which leads to a payout of £6,000 – by defeating Welshpool 3-2 last month but with Football League sides Cardiff City, Swansea City and Wrexham plus Welsh Premier champions TNS entering at the quarter-final stage, the eventual winners will collect £100,000.

However, the game at Newport Stadium may be put back 24 hours, when the three other ties will be staged.

Carmarthen are due to host Bangor City, Porthmadog face Llanelli at Y Traeth and Rhyl travel to Port Talbot.
