A DANCE mob struck in Wrexham on Saturday morning when shoppers in the busy Eagles Meadow centre witnessed a sudden outbreak of fancy footwork.

They looked on in disbelief at 11.30am as music began to play and first one and then others joined in until there were more than 50 young people dancing, at first randomly, but soon in a precisely choreographed routine.

Then the music stopped and they ripped off their jackets to reveal their Heart FM T-shirts.

It was all part of a meticulously planned operation to publicise local radio station Marcher’s rebranding as Heart FM.

Heart promotions co-ordinator Charlene Manshanden said: “It was all a lot of fun and I think when people got over their initial surprise they really enjoyed it.

“We just wanted to let them know who we are and what we’re about and we worked this all out specially with the talented young people from the Delta Academy of Dance in Tan y Fron. It was a mix of the music we play on Heart FM and we thought Eagles Meadow was the ideal place to do it.”
