A 17-YEAR-OLD father-to-be has appeared before magistrates after threatening to “punch the baby” out of his pregnant girlfriend.

On Wednesday Vale Royal Youth Court heard the Northwich teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, “woke up in a bad mood” on Thursday, July 10.

He repeatedly kicked a Peugeot 306 parked outside his girlfriend’s house, causing £850 worth of damage, then vandalised a nearby wall before shouting abuse at his partner and making the “regrettable” threat.

The teenager pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage and one of threatening behaviour, and also admitted being in breach of a conditional discharge imposed for a previous offence.

“He appears to have a number of issues which need addressing,” said Stephen Rodgers, defending. The youth will be sentenced on August 6. Until then he must not contact his girlfriend, magistrates warned.
