POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was knocked from his bike in a hit and run incident in Ellesmere Port.

A cyclist left the BP petrol station on Overpool Road and cycled on to Summertrees Road.

A car approached the cyclist from behind and collided with him before leaving the scene.

The 19-year-old man suffered cuts and bruises to his knees, elbows and hands.

A 21-year-old man from Great Sutton was arrested shortly after on suspicion of section 18 wounding and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
