A cyclist in his 30s was taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester Hospital after being involved in a collision with a car.

The accident happened at the Overpool roundabout in Ellesmere Port about 2pm today (Wednesday August 26).

Norh West Ambulance Service confirmed its attendance but was unable to confirm the cyclist’s condition.

People on the Pride in the Port Facebook page were asking what was happening after emergency vehicles were spotted in the area.

Alicia Smith wrote in response: “If it’s Overpool roundabout there was a bad accident there earlier on. Think someone had been knocked off their bike.”
