MORE than 250 eager shoppers braved the wind and rain to queue for the relaunch of Aldi in Winsford.
The revamped Dene Drive store celebrated the completion of it’s recent refurbishment programme on Thursday – and received an overwhelming response.
The store was closed for three days last month while the finishing touches were applied. And Aldi staff said the “unbelievable” feedback from customers meant it was all worth it.
Store Manager, William Davidson, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of people who attended our re-launch. Customers started queuing from 7am and by the time the store opened at 9am a queue of almost 300 customers had stretched right to the end of the car park and snaked back around to the store.”
Pupils from Over Hall Primary School performed a selection of Christmas songs as the customers entered the new look store.
Shoppers were treated to mince pies and the first 100 through the door also received presents from Santa, with one lucky customer going away with a DAB multimedia player.
