A SONGWRITER hopes to be top of the chops after immortalising Merseyside’s Superlambananas in verse.

A musician since 15, Robbie Kidd has a knack for writing tunes with a local flavour that catch the ear.

And when the 38-year-old Little Sutton guitarist’s mum Linda Jago wrote a poem about Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Superlambananas’ invasion he offered to set the lyrics to music.

Robbie explained the rhyme for banana was not the easiest in the world – but the mum and son team eventually opted for “every one a charmer”.

It goes on to describe Liverpool’s hopes for 2008 and the welcome visitors can expect to receive.
