THREE Mid Cheshire women are in the running to be crowned Cheshire Woman of the Year 2009.

Sixty secretly nominated women from across Cheshire and the Wirral who have shown personal courage, achieved outstanding professional success, or given service to their community have been invited to attend a lunch today, Wednesday - when the overall winner will be presented with a silver salver.

Northwich’s Lynda Allen has been nominated in the Professional Achievement category; Teenage violinist Sophie Rosa, from Cuddington, has been nominated in the Professional Achievement category and Tracy Stephens from Davenham is nominated in the Community Service and Personal Courage category.

The annual event is the perfect opportunity to reward truly worthy women with the recognition they deserve. It also raises money for the NSPCC to help run projects for children, young people and families who need help and support.

Spokeswoman Rachel Carter said: “Well done to the nominees for all their tremendous achievements.

“This award is a celebration of the wonderful attributes and skills of women across the region.”
