A MAN who died in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in a car crash has been named.
David John Ashbrook, 58, was cut from his car, a green VW Passat, after it collided with a white Ford Transit van near Window Seal on Bradford Road, Winsford at 3.55pm on Thursday, November 6.
Staff at Leighton Hospital were immediately put on standby because of the severity of the injuries, and he died in the early hours of Saturday.
A coroner opened and adjourned an inquest into his death yesterday, Wednesday.
The 37-year-old male driver of the van, who is from Winsford, suffered leg and hip injuries, including a suspected broken pelvis, and was treated at Leighton.
