ABERYSTWYTH Town boss Brian Coyne is looking for a “90-minute” performance when his side host struggling Newi Cefn Druids tonight.

Aber bowed out of the Welsh Cup with a 2-1 reverse at Connah’s Quay while losing 3-0 at Caersws in the Loosemores Cup in midweek.

Coyne described the displays as Jekyll and Hyde performances, with his side playing well in one half only to be found wanting in the other.

“If we can put 90 minutes together we’re a good side but at the moment we’re so inconsistent,” said Coyne.

“I’ll stick by the lads, who are a good honest bunch, but I can’t let it go on for ever and there will be changes if things don’t improve.”

After five games on their travels, Aber will be making a welcome return to home soil knowing that victory tonight would push them among the leading pack.

Their plans are hampered by the absence of suspended midfielder Bari Morgan and Glyndwr Hughes with a knee infection but Gareth Watkin could be involved after recovering from a back problem.

Druids, who prop up the table with just one point from six outings, have signed former Wrexham and Swansea City striker Steve Watkin from Welsh Premier rivals Caernarfon Town.

The 35-year-old forward’s arrival means he will link up again with former Racecourse boss Dixie McNeil and will help fill the gap left by Darren Williams, who has joined Airbus UK.

The game has been switched to an 8pm kick-off to help accommodate Druids players who were struggling to make the game due to work commitments.
