WELL we're all still on tenterhooks, but us Wrexham fans don't enjoy anything more than having the agony extended.

Unfortunately it's become the norm for us, even when judges legally hand us a summary verdict that saves the club, something comes along to spoil the joy.

This week's it's been Alex Hamilton's appeal against that judgment, which had given the Racecourse back to the club because of the decidedly strange way our beloved owner acquired the ground.

There wasn't a decision in the High Court as Hamilton did everything in his power to make even the appeal take as long as possible.

Instead we're going to have to wait for the result to see if he has a right to take the case to yet another trial, or if the judge decides he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

If that's the case we'll get the ground back, the club will be a viable option to potential owners and we'll have a fighting chance for the future.

It seems that everyone believes that Hamilton will lose the appeal and that the law is a complete ass if we don't.

But it's just the time this is all taking.

Hamilton is using every trick in the book to keep this appeal process going.

Not that the Football League are doing much to help us in our hour of need. They could state once and for all that Wrexham are a special case and should be given more than the 18 months clubs are allowed to stay in administration to sort themselves out.

But predictably, there's been nothing. At the moment Wrexham will be thrown out of the Football League in June, and all this is doing is encouraging Hamilton to use every delaying tactic he knows to keep this process going.

In the meantime, the club, players and staff don't know if they're coming and going as they wait for a resolution, and there is a real danger that we could lose all our star players in the summer once again.

This week even the Sports minister Richard Caborn said he'd contact League chairman Sir Brian Mawhinney and plead that the Dragons should be given special dispensation over their self-appointed rules, but even this political pressure isn't swaying Mawhinney.

Maybe he's still smarting that Labour won the last election.

Oh, by the way, there was also a football match on Tuesday... and we won!
