A CAERGWRLE couple were delighted to become the first people to formally reaffirm their wedding vows in Wrexham.
Karen and Chris Roden, married for five years and with two sons, Matthew and Ben, decided to have a formal reaffirmation ceremony at Ty Dewi Sant Register Office in Rhosddu Road.
'This is the first ceremony of this type ever recorded in Wrexham,' said Superintendent Registrar Ruth Cooke.
'There have been private ceremonies but never a formal public one like this.'
The ceremony was performed with witnesses before the couple went to Caergwrle Social Club for a party.
'We wanted to do it because we have had some tough times,' said Karen. 'We decided that this ceremony would be a good way to renew our marriage.
'Also, we loved our last marriage so much and had so much fun, we thought it would be nice to do it again.'
