ON AUGUST 30, Linda and Tony O'Malley left Market Street, Llangollen for Manchester Airport where they caught JMC Flight 10 to Malaga in search of their dream holiday home in Spain.

They made arrangements for about £21,000 to be transferred to a Spanish bank account for a purchase or deposit.

Linda's daughter Jenny, of Chester, expected to collect them from Manchester Airport on Friday, September 13, but they never appeared.

Tony's mother, Josephine O'Malley died on December 2, never knowing what happened to her son.

When they arrived in Malaga, Tony and LInda collected their hire car, a 1.9 Fiat Stilo diesel. It is not known where they spent their first night.

August 31: They booked into Hotel Ambassador Playa in Benidorm.

September 1: They moved to Hotel Altaya Playa in Altea, a better hotel.

They met Joanne Miles of Spanish Property Auctions at the Melia Hotel. She helped them get an identification number to take part in property auctions and in setting up their bank account.

September 2: They met Joanne again and opened an account at the CAM bank and left Joanne at 1pm.

September 3: They spent just over 34 euros in the Pizzeria Benidorm on an evening meal.

September 4: Linda telephoned home and spoke to Jenny, asked about the dogs and reminded her to post a birthday card. They booked out of the hotel.

September 5: It is not known where they stayed.

September 6: They met Joanne Miles again and said they were interested in a villa at Villajoyosa, near Benidorm but could not find it. Joanne said she would meet them again at the Hotel Melia on Tuesday (September 10).

September 7: Their Yorkshire Bank card is used to buy petrol from a Benidorm service station.

After that their card is used to buy all kinds of electrical goods, computers and clothes and it becomes obvious to the bank that something is wrong.

Yorkshire Bank received a call from Tony who wanted £18,000 transferring to CAM Bank - a transaction obviously made under duress.

September 13: Tony withdrew 25,000 euros from the CAM Bank in Benidorm.

September 14: The day after they should have returned to the UK the card was used at a new shopping centre in Valencia, the city where the alleged killers live.

September 16 and 19: The cards were again used in Valencia before they were eventually cancelled by the bank.
