AN INITIATIVE that insulates homes and saves money on energy bills is proving a great success.

Cheshire West Warm Zone – a council-funded initiative, that enables residents to benefit from free or low-cost cavity wall and loft insulation – not only protects the environment but can potentially save hundreds of pounds on annual heating bills for those who have it installed in their homes.

The scheme, a partnership project between Cheshire West and Chester Council, Warm Zone and ScottishPower, helps to eliminate fuel poverty and boost energy efficiency across West Cheshire.

Lynn Ashton, of Little Sutton, recently had cavity wall insulation carried out in her home and has been extremely impressed with it so far.

“I’m really pleased with the way that the work was done and the company that came to my house did a great job,” she said.

“They arrived exactly when they said they would, tidied up afterwards and I was also very impressed with the safety measures that they had in place.”
