THE top officer of the new council which will start to run this borough from April has started work.
Steve Robinson has been appointed as the first chief executive of Cheshire West and Chester Council, which replaces Ellesmere Port & Neston, Vale Royal and Chester City councils on April 1.
Taking up the reigns of leadership, he said: “I am delighted to join the team of Cheshire West and Chester at this exciting time.
“Already I can tell that excellent progress has been made to facilitate the delivery of services on April 1.
“It will be my challenge now to ensure the ambitious goals of the council’s executive are achieved in the coming months.
“I am confident that the authority we are building will deliver services effectively and efficiently so residents will benefit from having a single high-achieving council looking after their needs.”
