SAM Bird, a Corus Colors sponsored 1st year apprentice from Connah’s Quay, has won the title of Joint Apprentice of the year at TTE in Ellesmere Port.

Sam received the accolade at an awards evening in Chester and received a laptop as a prize from TTE. Corus, her sponsored company, also marked the occasion with Corus branded gifts and a donation towards the laptop.

Richard Sidebottom, manager manufacturing, said: “We are very proud of Sam winning this award in our first year of using TTE as our Training School. The facilities at TTE are first class.”

The apprenticeship scheme lasts 3.5 years with the final 18 months spent on site at Corus Colors.
