WINTRY weather was an ideal setting for a snow ball with a Coronation Street star.

Somen 300 guests were joined by Corrie Star, Ian Puleston-Davies alias Owen Armstrong at the Queen Hotel, Chester for the ball in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

Mr Puleston-Davies was presented with a special certificate of patronage from the hospice. The event raised £17,500, which included some generous auction bids for a rocking horse, football memorabilia and a week in a Yorkshire cottage.

Jemma Hamilton, event fundraiser said, “It was great to see so many people in the Christmas spirit on Saturday night and guests enjoyed a superb meal by Feathers and live music by Street Beat International.

“I would like to thank everyone for supporting the Snow Ball, the proceeds of which will go directly towards Hospice care for our patients and their families”.
