A COMMUNITY was left in mourning after a four-year-old boy died after a collision with a car outside the Comberbach Rose Fête.
Little James Gregory, who was described by his devoted parents as a “beautiful, caring boy” died after being struck by a car in Cogshall Lane at 1.30pm on Saturday.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Warrington General Hospital, where he later died.
The 48-year-old driver was uninjured.
James’ mum and dad, Emma Strachan and Andrew Gregory said their son’s smile could “light up the darkest of rooms”.
James attended Little Leigh Pre-school before joining Building Blocks nursery.
He was due to start at Comberbach Primary School in September and had already visited for a few half-days.
He was described by his parents as a “loving brother” to siblings Milly and Jordan.
A memorial service will be held at Knutsford Unitarian Chapel on Tuesday at 2.30pm followed by a committal at Altrincham Crematorium.
Anyone attending the funeral has been asked to refrain from wearing black.
