RESIDENTS on Winsford’s Grange Estate have paid tribute to a popular PCSO who is moving on after three- and-a-half years.

Matthew Hood left his position on Thursday to begin his two-year training as a fully fledged PC.

“Matthew will be sorely missed on the estate and other areas of Winsford,” said Mike Kennedy chairman of the Grange Residents Association.

“He has proved himself to be an excellent role model for community policing in Vale Royal and has shown PCSOs can play a really important part in reassurance and problem solving.”

Matthew, a PCSO since 2005, added: “I’ve loved every minute working with the residents in my beat area.”
