RESIDENTS in the Westminster area of Ellesmere Port have met to discuss how to make improvements in their community.

The Westminster Confidence Day gave people the opportunity to meet public service providers, including Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Streetscene team, who were able to talk about local environmental issues such as fly tipping and graffiti.

The event was co-ordinated by Collette Linford, from the Ellesmere Port area management team.

The Neighbourhood Environmental Action Team (NEAT) also attended and carried out improvement work including cutting back a bush that was blocking the path behind the church leading to the Westminster Parade, removing smaller bits of graffiti on the parade itself and removing rubbish which had been fly tipped in the area’s back alleys.

Over the coming months Streetscene has already committed to a number of similar events across the whole of Cheshire West and Chester borough.
