FIREFIGHTERS from Wrexham Fire Station took to the streets of the town for their biannual 10 mile sponsored walk.
The retained firefighters set off from outside Marks & Spencer and walked a route through the town in full fire kit, weighing 50lbs.
Although the figure is yet to be confirmed, the firefighters believe they have raised about £2,000 which will go to Nightin- gale House Hospice, Hope House Children’s Hospices and the Firefighters Charity.
Retained watch manager Dave Bithell said: “We are very grateful to the people of Wrexham for their generosity, and we are thrilled that such a substantial amount will be going to help these worthy charities.
“The firefighters all worked really well together, and had a fun but tiring day in the rain. I would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on the day and Mark and Spencers for donating hot drinks and sandwiches.”
