FOUR years of hard work have paid off for Parciau Bowling Club.

The Wrexham club has just switched on its new floodlights.

And no-one was more pleased than chairman Ray Barnes.

Since becoming chairman in 2000, Ray has endeavoured to expand Parciau - so much so that it now boasts nine teams.

But his long-term dream was the installation of floodlights, not only so the members could get in a couple of extra hours of practice when the nights close in, but so they could carry out coaching for partially sighted and disabled players.

Ray said: 'It's been a long, hard four years and it would take all night to explain all the work and help that has been carried out by everyone.

'I also must thank every person who has made a cash donation or loan to the club, and thanks for all those helped with sponsorship. And there was so many people who helped dig the cables, painted the lights and raised the funds. It's been a real team effort.'

The club is trying to repay its loans - if you can help, call Ray on 01978 291045.
