THE Rivendell Singers said goodbye to their musical director Clifford Peartree on Thursday at a dinner in the Mill Pool Restaurant, Little Budworth.

Cliff formed the Rivendell choir in 1972 whilst head of music at Sir John Deane’s Grammar School.

Cliff’s wife Gill was presented with a bouquet in recognition of her time with the choir. A bouquet was also presented to the choir’s musical accompanist Janice Bartai who was also retiring.

Lambs on show at farm

CUTE Leicester Longwool lambs will be among the animals waiting to meet visitors at a special rare breeds weekend at Home Farm, Tatton Park, on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend features fascinating talks about the special breeds.

The farm will be open both days from noon until 5pm (last entry 4pm), admission is £4 adults, children £2, family £10 (2 adults and up to 3 children).

Sequence dance dates

FREJOY Dancing – sequence dancing, old and up-to-date – a new venture starting on September 3 at St John Evangelist Church Hall, Station Road, Lostock Gralam, most Wednesdays 8pm to 10.30pm.
