CRAFTS and classic cars come to the National Waterways Museum this Father’s Day weekend.

This weekend will see about 50 classic cars and another 50 craft stalls fill the museum for its first Classic Car and Craft Fair.

Included in the selection of visiting cars and motorcycles will be a number of rare Ellesmere Port built DRK sports cars, gathering in their hometown.

One of the attractions will be a rare chance to meet the owner and builder of Ellesmere Port’s second largest car manufacturer, the DRK motor company Ltd. The DRK club will be on hand to show off some of the bespoke vehicles they have made.

Visitors will explore the museum to find all the stalls – selling cupcakes, soap, jewellery and more – which will be sharing space with its collection of canal arts, crafts and artefacts.

Museum marketing manager Oliver Briscoe said: “Cars, crafts and the atmospheric museum are a perfect mix and we’re looking forwards to a busy weekend.”

Admission to the museum will be £3 on the Saturday and Sunday – opening hours at 10-5pm, although craft stalls will be packing up from 4pm so visitors to the museum should make sure to arrive before then.

The event is raising money for three charities – the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, RSPCA and the museum itself.
