DAVENHAM Police Community Support Offficer Tom McDermott has kick-started a crackdown on illegal parkers.
During the past few months drivers have been using the bus stop outside the village post office as a parking bay, causing problems for other road users.
He said: “The problem was highlighted a while ago and, following some work with local people, seemed to be resolved. Sadly it seems the message didn’t quite get through.
“Inconsiderate and illegal parking can create dangerous situations for other road users and pedestrians.
“I’ll be out and about in the village in the coming weeks and won’t hesitate to issue fixed penalty notices to anyone who breaks parking regulations.”
