THERE were laughs aplenty in Winsford when a travelling show rolled into town to raise money for a children’s hospice.

Circus Starr brought its wide variety of acts and clownish antics to the Verdin playing fields.

Proceeds were donated to The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice at Stoke-on-Trent, which serves South Cheshire and Staffordshire.

The all-human show provided a magical mix of top-flight acrobatics, breathtaking balancing and non-stop comedy.

More than 750 tickets were bought and donated by local businesses, with children from Greenbank, Hebden Green and Russett special schools among the lucky beneficiaries.
