A GROUP of volunteers from Great Budworth Parish Church, including the Vicar the Rev Alec Brown, swapped the comforts of home on Saturday night for an eight hour sponsored sleep-out in the churchyard.
Their aim was to draw attention to the plight of homeless elderly people in Romania and to raise money for the latest project by Barnton based charity Christian Community Ministries.
CCM has been working in Romania since 1992.
In 1998 the charity opened a children’s home for street children in Cluj-Napoca and are currently working on a larger building to house more children.
The charity aims to convert the original building into apartments for homeless elderly people, at an estimated cost of £10,000 for each apartment.
