A BARMAID has just celebrated her 32nd year of pulling pints at the same hostelry.

Christine Price, 51, has been working continuously at The Chimneys in Hooton since the summer of 1976.

As well as being a much-loved fixture behind the bar, she is also a community hero – doing 20 hours of voluntary service a week at St John’s Hospice in Clatterbridge among other unpaid work.

Her boss, landlord Paul Brady, said: “She’s just fantastic. She’s a senior member of our staff with an unbroken level of service.

“Christine is so loved here, she’s always bubbly and welcoming, nothing’s too much for her.”

He added Miss Price, of Eastham, also used to work part-time at Shell while pulling the pints for him, and jokingly likened her to Coronation Street's matriarchal landlady Annie Walker.
