A CHARITY car festival which will motor into Cholmondeley later this summer sold out of tickets in just 28 minutes.

It was only announced last week that Car Fest North, the brainchild of BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, was to be held in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle, and organisers were stunned it sold out in such a short space of time.

Car Fest North will feature an impressive array of modern and classic supercars over the weekend of September 8 and 9, as well as static displays, a food festival and family activities.

There will also be musical performances from Texas, Razorlight and The Proclaimers.

The event is raising money for BBC Children in Need, and will come three months after Cholmondeley Castle hosts another large-scale car festival, the Pageant of Power, which will feature an 1.2-mile race circuit, powerboat action, military combat demonstrations and aerobatic displays, as well as a fireworks concert.

There are still tickets left for this event, which is from June 15-17. Visit www.cpop.com.
