MEADOW Foods, the UK’s largest independent dairy and leading supplier of milk-based dairy ingredients to the food industry, has announced the appointment of Robin Elliot as its new product development technologist.

Working with the group’s technical team, Robin will be responsible for managing product development projects from concept to launch and to help ensure NPD process and procedures are standardised.

Based in the company’s Chester office, Robin will also look to drive value and efficiencies through product, packaging and manufacturing processes.

He joins Meadow Foods with more than 25 years of experience which has including leading food technical teams at Tate & Lyle, Dairy Crest Limited and HJ Heinz Ltd.

Simon Chantler, executive chairman, Meadow Foods said: “Robin brings additional experience and expertise to our technical team.

“Under Robin’s guidance we will look to continue to drive value and efficiencies through our manufacturing processes while exploring the opportunities to develop new and exciting dairy products for our food manufacturing customers.”

Meadow Foods operates from factories in Chester, Peterborough and Holme-on-Spalding Moor, their products include cream, butter, sweetened condensed milk, anhydrous milk fat, chocolate crumb and cultured products.

The company, founded in 1992, now employs more than 250 people and has a turnover in excess of £340m.
