DO YOU have problems doing everyday tasks or know someone who does? Then a showcase of community equipment designed to assist independent living may be for you.

The event takes place on Wednesday, March 2 at Winsford Lifestyle Centre, and is expected to attract people from across Cheshire West and Chester.

Running from 4.30-7.30pm, the event will have exhibitors from local retailers and suppliers of equipment. There will be the opportunity to find out about Independent Living Centres as well as third sector organisations and to see what help is available in the area.

Local accredited retailers will offer advice on what to buy and direct visitors to other services as appropriate. Independent Living Centres can give more specialist help and support and there will be representatives from each of the local centres on site.

The event is supported by Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire East Council, Central and Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust and NHS Western Cheshire, who together provide the statutory community equipment service, called Choicequip, which will also be attending.

Cheshire West and Chester Councillor Brenda Dowding, Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Health, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for members of the public to come and find out what equipment and services are available to support them in everyday life.

“There is a wide range of retailers attending as well as a range of third sector organisations which will make for a very informative event. The staff from the Independent Living Centres will also be on hand to offer invaluable advice on the services they offer.”
