CHESHIRE West and Chester Council is supporting Road Safety Week by putting up giant banners at the McDonalds Drive-through at Cheshire Oaks.

The aim is to raise awareness about drink and drug driving in the lead up to the event, which runs from November 23-29, and to help prevent road deaths and injuries in the area.

The banners urge residents to not drink a drop of alcohol, or take even a drag of illegal drugs before driving.

Central and Westminster ward councillor Lynn Clare said: “Road safety is everyone’s responsibility so we urge everyone to never buy a drink for someone who is driving.

“It is best to designate a driver who won’t drink before having a night out because if you are involved in a collision the consequences are horrendous.”
