POLICE investigating an arson attack on a Winsford corner shop have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

The stills show a lone person walking past the Nip-In on the corner of Siddorn Street and High Street moments before the fire broke out, at around 1.30am on Friday, May 1.

Investigating officer Det Con Steve Jones said: "We are keen to identify the person in the picture. At present, we do not know if they are a suspect or a potential witness."

Katrina and Richard Blackmore and their three young children managed to escape unharmed when the blaze, which started when a home made petrol bomb was through a window at the Nip-In, ripped through their first floor flat above.

Anyone who recognises the person in the picture, or has any information about how the fire started, is asked to call police on 0845 4580000 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
