LOCAL community groups, people supporting village halls and not for profit organisations are being invited to a meeting which will explain how they can tap into funding from the Landfill Communities Fund.

Waste Recycling Environmental or WREN is one of the UK’s leading environmental bodies and distributes grants which have been collected from Landfill Tax.

The free meeting to explain more is taking place on Wednesday, March 24 between 10am and 12.30pm at the Winsford Lifestyle Centre.

Types of projects include play areas, improvements to village halls and restoration to buildings and monuments of architectural interest.

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Executive Member for Prosperity Councillor Herbert Manley whose remit includes regeneration said: “Experts will be on hand to explain general eligibility, project requirements and how to apply.

“Funding can range from £2,000 to £50,000 and can make a real difference to many different projects. If you want to find out more please come along to the meeting”
