A GROUP of local care organisations, working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, have pledged to work together to give customers the best possible service and attention.

The organisations involved offer a wide range of help, support and information for people with care or health needs.

The group, known as the Information Consortium, launched its promise outside Chester Town Hall. It is part of the council’s My Life My Choice initiative to give people more choice and control over the care and help they receive.

The 15 organisations have come together to ensure they will do their utmost to help, whatever the query, when someone contacts them. They have promised not to simply pass people on to another organisation, unless they are satisfied the person will continue to be looked after.

The organisations involved are: Age UK Cheshire, Body Positive Cheshire and North Wales, British Red Cross, Cheshire Carers’ Centre, Cheshire Centre for Independent Living, Cheshire West Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Deafness Support Network, DIAL House, DICE Ltd, Making Space, Mencap, Multiple Sclerosis Support Centre, Neuromuscular Centre, Vale Royal Disability Services.

Speaking on behalf of the consortium, Cllr Brenda Dowding, executive member for adult social care and health, said: “We’re aiming to make it as easy as possible for people to access the care and support they need.

“It’s all about doing our best to make sure that you get all the help and advice you need from our different organisations without being passed from one place to another.”
