A GARDEN party has generated £1,551 for charity, beating previous years’ totals.

The Gayton Lodge Garden Party, formerly known as the Ellesmere Port Lodge Garden Party, was hosted for the seventh successive year by Frank Griffiths and his wife Becca at their home in Elton.

A lodge spokesman said: “It was another success both with a turnout of 135 guests and importantly raising a wonderful £1,551.

“At a similar event in 2006 we raised £1,020 and, in 2007, raised £1,400.

“Many thanks for the support of Masonic and non-Masonic guests who attended. The funds will be distributed to Masonic and local non-Masonic charities later this year.”
